Scholar in Residence

Distinguished International Scholar in Residence

The goal of the Distinguished International Scholar program is to bring an experienced scholar in children’s and adolescent literature from another country to the University of Arizona for a one semester residency. WOW provides educators and future educators access to the scholar, and vice versa, resulting in the generation and completion of projects on both the individual and the collaborative levels.

Scholars apply for this fellowship and submit a plan for their time at the University of Arizona. This plan includes a proposal for the type of scholarly work and interactions in which they will engage and the product they will produce at the end of the fellowship to reflect that work. To facilitate this work and engagement, WOW provides the scholar office space in ICCAL.

Plans may include presentations in the Professional Development Workshops on international literature related to their international expertise that would be published on the website, scholarly work using the collection, and/or interactions with university faculty and students. Scholars would also engage in forums and activities associated with the College of Education and CERCLL as well as other related departments in the University.
