Richard Ruiz Scholar Lecture Featuring Dr. Ruth López

Join us in person or via Zoom on Saturday, March 28, 2026 for the 2026 Richard Ruiz Scholar Lecture and celebration.
Dr. Ruth López is an Associate Professor in of the Department of Educational Policy in the College of Education and Director of Educational Leadership and Practice. Dr. López´s selection and participation as the scholar includes a presentation to the greater UA community during spring semester 2026 and a 5 week residency in Guanajuato, México in the summer teaching UA Verano en México study abroad students in an interdisciplinary colloquy in collaboration with international faculty and students at the University of Guanajuato. Dr. López will engage in associated academic activities within the greater Guanajuato community and with families, children and the community at Resplandor International.
We are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Scholar in Residence program in 2026! We invite you to join us and celebrate this collaborative effort at the Worlds of Words Center. You may attend in person or virtually by Zoom.
Parking is available in the Second St. Garage next door to the College of Education. Street parking or surface lot parking is also available. The Worlds of Words Center is located just off of the 2nd St. Modern Streetcar stop.
