All WRAP’d Up: Disability Experiences in K-12 Literature
The Teen Reading Ambassadors created this issue of All WRAP’d Up in response to picturebooks and novels we read depicting disability experiences. After considering multiple stories, we engaged in brief book talks to see what themes emerged across all the titles and connections we made. We also asked ourselves and each other penetrating questions to push our understandings of the experiences depicted, question what we think we know and begin to develop informed beliefs.
TRAP includes disabled and non-disabled people. Those who identify as disabled are clear that their disability is not their personality.
This post includes selected pages from the ‘zine and information on how to request a paper copy.
