Crowdfund Campaign: Challenge Accepted

Today

Plot Twist

With a week left in the campaign, we had a generous donor step up who will make a gift of $5000 when we hit our fundraising goal!

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our Reading Ambassador Program so far. We’ve operated the Reading Ambassador program on a budget of $8000 by keeping our costs down, DIY creativity and strong partnerships like the one we have with U of A Campus Store who provides our books at a discount. Rising costs elsewhere are out of our control.

We recalculated those costs and long-time donor, Jerry Short, will fill the gap – if we meet our goal of $8000. This is the moment in a hero's journey where there is a call to adventure. We may not feel ready to meet the challenge, but it's time for the next stage.

Can you help us rise to the moment and close the books on the campaign with your gift today?

The Middle School Reading Ambassadors had a great meeting with Newbery-winning author, Donna Barba Higuera. We will share our thoughts on the visit in an upcoming episode of WOW Reads.

As part of our thematic readings on climate issues, the Teen Reading Ambassadors set out on another campus adventure to check out ENR2. We also recorded a podcast episode talking about our books and sharing our reflections and began to build our 'zine.

Come back to visit the WRAP page for updates on the podcast episodes and 'zine issue.

WOW Currents is a space to talk about forward-thinking trends in global children's and adolescent literature and how we use that literature with students. "Currents" is a play on words for trends and timeliness and the way we talk about social media. We encourage you to participate by leaving comments and sharing this post with your peers. To view our complete offerings of WOW Currents, please visit its archival stream.
