Lorri J. Santamaría explores the complex reality behind today’s diversity, equity, and inclusion language. Inspired by the legacy of Dr. Richard Ruiz, this talk examines how seemingly innocuous terms can be weaponized, marginalizing communities and distracting from true progress. Witness firsthand the impact on bilingual, multicultural, and multilingual education and discover a path towards reclaiming the transformative power of inclusive language. Dr. Santamaría is an educational leader, bilingual educator, and critical DEI scholar.
