Join us for an in-person professional development workshop for K-8 Arizona educators co-hosted by the Center for East Asian Studies.
Explore the possibilities of biography while learning about the lives of interesting and famous people in East Asia, past and present. Consider six picturebooks that accurately feature China, Japan, and Korea to enhance your integrated social studies and literacy curriculum, as well as students’ development of written and visual literacy skills.
Lunch will be provided. Participants will receive a PD certificate as well as the 6 picturebooks featured in the session.
Open to elementary and middle school teachers. Priority will be given to teachers who plan to incorporate the books into their instruction. Enrollment is limited to 25 teachers. Applications close March 1, 2026 or when full.
Parking is available in the Second St. Garage next door to the College of Education. Street parking or surface lot parking is also available. The Worlds of Words Center is located just off of the 2nd St. Modern Streetcar stop.
