This is a beautifully written and illustrated book about a young boy living in Puerto Rico that while on a picnic with his mother discovers the beauty of the Yellow Flamboyán tree. While on this picnic with his mother, he collects some of the Flamboyán seeds and plants them with his mother. The young boy and the tree mature in this story symbolic of the symbiotic relationship the people of Puerto Rico have with nature and our responsibility to take care of our precious island.
