Two shy children meet at a noisy pool and dive beneath the crowd into a magical undersea land, where they explore a fantastical landscape and meet various creatures.
Early Years (ages 2-6)
The Big Princess
Once upon a time, a king and queen discover among their flowers a lovely and very tiny princess perched on a leaf. Overjoyed to have found a daughter, they fashion for her a single-feather bed and watch as she grows large enough to sleep in a ring box, a teacup, and a teddy bear’s lap. But still the princess keeps growing and growing, until her head pokes through the top of even the tallest tower.
Melissa’s Octopus And Other Unsuitable Pets
There are certain animals that make suitable pets, like a cat, a dog, or a guinea pig. Then there are others that make, well, unusual pets, like an octopus, a warthog, or an elephant. They’re too large, too messy, and maybe a tad too free-spirited with a tendency to break things like tables, floors, and even ceilings.
The Cow Tripped Over The Moon
Jumping over the moon is fine as long as you don’t trip and end up needing cow-size bandages. And having a blackbird peck off your nose can leave a person very sore indeed. Led along by bright, humorous illustrations and an energetic rhyming text, little readers will have fun guessing who the next Storyland victim might be, following hints like, “Who could be covered in egg?” and “Who went up and tumbled down?”
Mr. Happy And Miss Grimm
When Mr. Happy moves next door to Miss Grimm and begins planting gardens and making friendly gestures, Miss Grimm is not pleased but soon, she feels something strange taking over her bleak little house.
Monty’s Magnificent Mane
Monty the lion loves his long, golden mane, so he’s not happy when his meerkat friends mess it up. Stomping off to the waterhole, he’s cheered up by the flattery of a new friend, a big green friend. With a SNAP Monty realizes that his flattering pal is actually a giant crocodile looking for dinner.
Hoppelpopp And The Best Bunny
Bunnies Binny, Benny, Bernie, Bonnie, and Buddy love doing everything together until Hoppelpopp, a great big rabbit, challenges them to a competition that will determine which of them is the best.
Ah!
Two bunnies fall in love, but are separated by two spiders who laugh at the bunnies and start a romance of their own.
The Baby Swap
Caroline Crocodile goes to a baby shop to see if she can exchange her drooly brother, but finds that the baby panda is a fussy eater, the baby elephant too squirty and her brother has reason to drool.
The New Small Person
Elmore Green starts life as an only child, as many children do. He has a room to himself, where he can line up his precious things and nobody will move them one inch. But one day everything changes. When the new small person comes along, it seems that everybody might like it a bit more than they like Elmore Green. And when the small person knocks over Elmore’s things and even licks his jelly-bean collection, Elmore’s parents say that he can’t be angry because the small person is only small. Elmore wants the small person to go back to wherever it came from. Then, one night, everything changes.
